Indonesia economic expansion slowed

World Economic outlook Indonesia's economic expansion slowed slightly in the fourth quarter, dragging down the country's full-year growth, in a sign that the global slowdown hurt Southeast Asia's largest economy.

The official Central Statistics Agency said Tuesday the economy expanded by 6.11% from a year earlier in the fourth quarter, slowing from the 6.16% increase in the third quarter from the previous year. The gross domestic product contracted by 1.45% in the fourth quarter from the third, compared with 3.18% growth in the third quarter from the second.

Indonesian economic growth forecast 2013

World Economic outlook - Indonesian economic growth forecast 2013 : Indonesian economy is predicted to grow by 6.8 percent to 7.2 percent next year, spurred by investment and consumption, Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Rajasa.

Hatta Rajasa said that investment would contribute to the growth by 3.03 percent to 3.13 percent, followed by household consumption by 2.62 percent to 2..85 percent.

World Economic outlook - indonesia inflation rate january 2012 : The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported on Wednesday that the monthly consumer price index (CPI) in January rose to 0.76 percent, higher than the 0.57 percent recorded in December on the back of food price increases during the month.

“Inflation surged due to increases in the prices of several food commodities,” BPS interim head Suryamin said on Wednesday. The year-on-year inflation, however, slowed to 3.65 percent in January from 3.79 percent in December.

World Economic outlook - Indonesia inflation rate November 2011 ; Indonesia's inflation rate continued to slow in November, with the consumer price index up 4.15% from a year earlier, while Thailand's CPI matched its October rate of 4.19% as the country's worst floods in decades pushed up prices.

Indonesia's November rate, reported Thursday by the official Central Statistics Agency, represented a slowdown from October's 4.42%, September's 4.61% and August's 4.79%, due to a high base of comparison.
