World Economic outlook - Sudan inflation rate January 2012 ; Sudan’s inflation rate climbed to 19.3 percent in January as food prices increased, the Central Bureau of Statistics said.
Inflation accelerated from 18.9 percent in December, the Khartoum-based agency said in an e-mailed statement today. Food prices jumped 4.1 percent in the month as fruit costs advanced 9.3 percent, legumes climbed 6.9 percent and grains rose 5.2 percent, it said.
Sudan’s is targeting inflation at 18 percent this year, Finance Minister Ali Mahmoud Abdel Rasoul said on Dec. 1.
